Earthtones was founded in 2017 by Mahala Gehna. Beginning as a mobile therapist, Mahala took premises in Arnold, Nottingham early in 2018. From this base, Earthtones grew and Mahala was able to add more treatments and classes.

In 2022, Alex Nivlet joined the business. An experienced healer in his own right, Alex brought with him fresh ideas and new therapies. It soon became clear that Earthtones was outgrowing the studio in Arnold and the search began for new premises.

Earthtones relocated to Mansfield, opening a therapy centre with a small shop in September 2022. This is where you'll find us today.

Mahala Gehna

I’ve been a qualified Sound Therapist since 2007 and have a wealth of experience to help clients combat their demons, in whichever form they take. I was the first person in the UK to receive the Certificate of Sound Therapy qualification, and later went on to achieve a Practitioner Level Diploma in Sound Therapy too.

I’m also Mum to three amazing children, a Cacao Practitioner, Chakradance leader and Wild Woman Circle leader. I continue to study and deepen my knowledge and understanding of energy healing in order to create and use treatments that will best help my clients.

I work with sound energy, the chakras and universal energy to achieve the aims I map out with clients. I’m confident in the therapies I offer, because I’ve used them myself to completely change my own life, going from being unable to function due to chronic illness, to being able to live a normal life whilst managing those illnesses like a pro!

Alex Nivlet

I first discovered Reiki in 2001, after battling with several addictions. Not only did Reiki help me heal on a physical and emotional level, it also gave me a moral code to follow:

Just for today, I will not anger

Just for today, I will be kind to all creatures (including myself)
Just for today, I will work steadily on my spiritual path
Just for today, I will be grateful for my many blessings

Being attuned to Reiki also opened me to the world of energies, which are always present around us. I have since then been attuned to many more healing systems (Usui Reiki, Angelic Reiki, Shamanic Healing, Kundalini Reiki, Metatronia, Seichim, Shambhala, Ra-Sheeba), which I now use together to help people, situations, animals and places. I am a Reiki and Shambhala master, and am currently learning more about other energy healing systems.
