Monday Mantra to Burn Limitations

This week's Monday Mantra is to Kali, a fierce Goddess who will challenge you, but always have your back.

Kali is often thought of as a fearsome goddess with her dark blue skin, wild black hair flowing over her shoulders, naked except for a skirt of severed arms and a necklace of skulls. Her tongue sticks out, the sword she holds in one hand drips with blood, as does the severed head she holds in another. She stands over the body of Shiva. Working with Kali is not for the faint-hearted.

In Sanskrit, Kali means “she who is black” or “she who is death”, and Kali is often thought of as the goddess of death, and she is one of the few to whom blood sacrifices are still made in some areas of India. She is so much more than this though.

She appears differently depending on the level of consciousness with which you approach her. There are two basic versions of Kali. Firstly, the village or forest Kali, where she is seen as the goddess of the margins – scary and half-demonic; invoked for protection and magical purposes. She is also worshipped as Kali Ma – Mother Kali, a benign and loving source of boons and blessings; her wildness is interpreted symbolically.

The mantra will help you burn through limitations, real or imagined, put on you or self imposed (hands up who does that to themselves? ✋🏼)

It will also help with

* gaining transformative strength

* letting go of ego

* strengthening the heart

* awakening kundalini

* finding enlightenment

* achieving transcendent ecstasy
